2017 is a Silver Metal Winner

The Central Coast is home to world class Pinot Noir and the El Rey Vineyard follows the area’s rich tradition by producing an expressive Pinot Noir.

Sunset Magazine’s International wine competition is considered to be one of the most respected, and has the honor and distinction of recognizing the best wines produced internationally. This contest drew top-level wines and hand-picked top-notch judges to determine which wines stood out and are worthy of recognition.  Our 2017 vintage took a Silver Metal, and we are so honored to showcase our wine in a competition of this caliber.

The 2017 vintage welcomes you in with a velvety texture of traditional red and dark fruit.  Our grape clones 828 and 115 blend aromas of blood orange, strawberry, black cherry, savory herbs and vivid mulling spices.  The wine was raised in a combination of new and seasoned French oak barrels and offers a concentrated flavor of earthy smoke to complement the ripe fruit and spice profile this wine offers.
